These microscopic pests will eat through the leaves on your crop and live on the underside of leaves. Within a short period of time, spider mites can start producing webs which if left unattended can destroy a healthy crop within weeks. Spider Mites are primarily a female population, and each mother can lay upto 100 eggs which only take 3-4 days to hatch. Spider mites dislike humidity - Their breeding rate can be slowed and stopped by raising the humidity levels in your growroom to 50%+ . Spider mites dislike draughts and generally tend to shy away from oscillating fans. Spider Mites will suck all the juice from the leaves of your plants leaving a pin sized white dots on the surface of your pants leaves, these spots usually appear in clusters and are much more visable that spotting actual spider mites.
Keeping your growing environment clean is probably the key to keeping spidermites away - you should regularly clean your growroom free from soil, rubbish and bacteria. Regular cleaning of your growroom will help keep pests away.
Heavily infested leaves can be manually removed by hand, less infected plants can be sprayed with 'pest off' or 'nite nite spider mite'. Natural predators can also be introduced for thorough cleanse, although these are only effective during the vegetive stage of your plants life.
